Sustainability at Eisberg Austria

And what is Eisberg Austria doing in terms of sustainability?

Quite a lot: Eisberg Austria has been boasting an energy-efficient and sustainably designed plant since 2019.

We are pushing the procurement of regional, sustainably certified raw materials and are pursuing 100% needs-based procurement and production with S & OP. This enables us to use all channels of the supply chain efficiently without generating losses and wasting resources. This is complemented by efficient project management. We also take measures to save food and support regional stakeholders with donations in kind and in cash. See for yourself:

  • Savings of 3,199,200 km (≙ 1,087,728 l & CO2 reduction of 2,835 t) by shipping finished products from IT to AT since the start of production in 2019
  • EU-funded refrigeration system, operated exclusively with natural refrigerants
  • Own pre-treatment plant for operational wastewater & own well system
  • Production with the most modern & energy-efficient machines & systems
  • Efficient, ongoing project management
  • Minimization of material usage through optimization of secondary & primary packaging
  • Transport route minimization through bundled logistics & optimized truck loading
  • Projects to improve & optimize energy & water use as well as water treatment & improvement of wastewater quality: fully automated flotation plant, physical pre-cleaning, grease separator & EDTA-free caustic cleaning agent
  • Rehandling of raw materials within the three internal production halls
  • Weekly donation of overproduced goods to charitable organizations such as Red Cross Wels/Marchtrenk, SOMA Vienna/Linz, Mosaik & sporadic food donations to volunteer fire departments & Co.
  • Regional schools (e.g. HTL, FH)
